1. Rich people don`t behave like victims
The author says that rich people are not victims. They don`t see themselves as helpless or as victims of life. That everything happening in their life is not in their control.
The rich people are the complete opposite of the victim mindset, they want to be the one in control of their life. If you want to transition from being poor to rich, then change your mindset.
The poor people will in any situation say
God, Why is this happening to me? Why I didn`t get a rich life?
This is the victim behavior, that involves thinking like you are not in control of your life. You have to remember that everything that happens in your life is a result of your actions and decisions. If you are not fit, it’s your fault, if you are not wealthy it’s your fault.
Take charge of your life now. You have spent many years being on the passenger seat, Now its time to take the driver’s seat and steer your life the way you want and do what you want to do.
If you are a victim or just want to avoid being one, remember these three things that victims mostly do.
The people who just like to blame on others of the mishap or any situation. These people will always find others fault in the situation like,
I am poor because of my parents, I can`t go for jogging because there is too much cold.etc
They will never take responsibility for their life. Everything happens because of ignorance and blaming others.
If they are not blaming others then they will be found justifying.
For example: If you ask someone why they are not rich?
most of them will say: Well, money is not important or something like money is the root of all evil.
Most people who say that: Oh, Money is not important. You shouldn`t run after money.
These kind of people are broke themselves. And to make their ego comfortable they`ll say such things.
These statements show that people will try to prove themselves right for not having the money or being fit or doing the things they want.
This is the most favorite thing that people with a victim mindset do i.e Complain. They love to complain.
For example, the weathers not good to go for a walk, the economy
is not good to start a business, why does this doesn`t work? etc.
If you go and ask them what`s wrong, they`ll tell you a thousand things. They`ll never run out of things to complain about.
It’s like they`ll see a white wall and complain about a small black spot on the wall.
2.Play the game to win
An ideal life of an average individual consist of getting educated, get a nice degree, get a job, get married, have some kids, have a house live comfortably while doing the job, pay the bills, save for retirement, and then finally retire and relax, and then die.
This is what a normal, middle-class individual wants a “Comfortable” life. But that’s not what will make you rich.
Once you become rich you will be able to have all the comfort you want but before that, you have to go from the phase of hardships. And also after you become rich there`s no guarantee that you always will be comfortable.
In this fast changing world you literally have to run in order to stand still, so being comfortable is not an option.
If you want to be rich just to be comfortable that’s totally fine. But you cannot be comfortable and be rich. You have to play the game,
constantly keep learning and never quit no matter how hard your life gets.
3. Deicide and Commit
With a simple reality check: billions
of people want to be rich, relatively few are.
There are two types of men according to me. First, the one who just have wants and the second who is committed to getting what he wants.
Among these people, the later one gets what he wants not the first. That`s because of his attitude towards life. It’s not of a victim, he shows the qualities of a conqueror. He believes that he deserves this result and will do whatever it takes to make it happen.
But the first category people with the victim behavior won`t do things that are needed to be done. Because they just want something. These type of people aren`t committed to a goal. They don`t have enough will power to make it happen.
Before doing anything worthwhile you have to make a decision. You have to decide that you will achieve this wealth. you have to commit to the goal and make a promise to yourself “No matter what happens I will make this happen“. Then you will get what you want.
Remember Even God doesn`t help a man, who doesn`t help himself.
4. Every master was once a disaster
During your journey to success or wealth, you will do many mistakes encounter many setbacks but you have to remember that life is filled with hardships and you can`t avoid them. But you can learn from them and grow, get better each time. It is sort of a compound effect the more you learn the more you will grow.
He mentions this example
A while ago, I had an Olympic
skier in my seminar. When I made that statement, he stood up
and asked to share. He was adamant, and for some reason I
thought he was going to vehemently disagree. To the contrary,
he told everyone the story of how when he was a kid, he was
the worst skier of all his buddies. How they sometimes
wouldn’t call him to go skiing with them because he was so
slow. To fit in, he went to the mountain early each weekend
and took lessons. Pretty soon he not only kept up with his
buddies, he surpassed them. He then got involved in the racing
club and learned from a top-ranked coach. His exact words
were “I might be a master skier now, but I definitely started
out as a disaster. Harv’s absolutely right. You can learn to
succeed at anything. I learned how to succeed at skiing, and
my next goal is to learn how to succeed with money!”
In this way, you have to just keep going until you reach your goal. if you can`t succeed at the first time just fail your way to success. And one day with all the hard work and knowledge you will become wealthy.
